Cookie policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
One setting remembers your answer to the cookie question, and one remembers how you arrived, for the request form. The only optional cookies are analytics, and they are not set at all unless you allow it.
What we set, and why
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| rrhq.consent.v2 | Us (stored in your browser, not sent to us) | Remembers whether you said yes or no to analytics, so you are not asked on every page. | Until you clear your browser storage | Strictly necessary |
| rrhq.src | Us (stored in your browser) | Remembers how you first arrived and how you most recently arrived (campaign tags or the website that linked to you), so a request you send can say how you found us. Sent to us only inside a request you choose to send. | Until you clear your browser storage | Functional |
| ph_* / distinct_id | PostHog | Tells repeat visits apart so a returning reader is not counted as a new one. Only set if you allow analytics. | Up to 12 months | Optional — analytics |
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook) | Advertising measurement, so we can see which adverts bring people here. Only set if you allow analytics. | Up to 3 months | Optional — analytics |
| __cf_bm and similar | Cloudflare | Distinguishes people from bots and keeps the site up under scraping. Set by the network in front of the site. | Around 30 minutes | Strictly necessary |
Analytics is off until you allow it
Neither script loads when you arrive. If you decline, or do not answer, no analytics identifier is created. Declining does not change how the site works.
Our own visit counter, which sets nothing
One more script runs on every page, and it is not in the table above because it sets no cookie and stores nothing on your machine. It is ours, and it reports the page you opened, how you arrived, and the fact that somebody is reading. To tell two readers apart for a single day, the server turns your address and browser string into a number that cannot be turned back into either, and starts again at midnight. It is not joined to anything you send us, and it is not shared. The privacy policy says why we run it and how to object.
Changing your mind
You can change your answer at any time, in either direction.
Clearing your browser's storage for this site also clears the answer, and you will be asked again on your next visit.
Analytics and advertising
With your permission we use PostHog to measure how the site is used, and the Meta pixel to measure which adverts bring people here. Both are listed in the table above. You can change your choice at any time with the button below.
What we do not do
We never sell your personal data. We do not buy data about you from brokers, and there is no third-party advertising on this site.
